This qualification builds on the wealth of experience of the Level 3 workforce and challenges both practical and theoretical understanding. There are no exams to complete this qualification. This qualification is assessed through compiling a professional portfolio of evidence demonstrating how you are engaging with research and considering possible opportunities for change in your setting.
Overview of the Qualification:
This qualification is ideal for those already working in a Level 3 position and looking to enhance their career with a Level 4, to become a HLTA or similar position. It is important that you have responsibility to make change in at least one specific area within your workplace.
The five units of this qualification will enable you to develop your career as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Inclusion Assistant, Student Success Coach or similar. This qualification will enable you to develop research skills whilst enabling you to reflect and grow as a professional.

APSC4C2 – Understand how to support children and young people to improve their mental health and well-being
APSC4C3 – Working with others to support individuals with additional needs and disability in a school or college

APSC4C5 – Implementing change in school or college setting
Unlimited tutor support: Yes
Assessment: Through written assignments, examples of real work from your setting and a project. The project enables you to undertake small-scale research in your setting. This is an exciting part of your course as it enables you to make a direct impact in your setting from your learning.
